MOMO, Japanese Ceramics, Barcelona

In my favourite part of Barcelona, the old Jewish quarter, there are narrow streets, looming doorways with dark, secret history and murky shadows often perforated with dusty shafts of light. When I feel like a little escape from the hectic Raval, I often wander down here to take relief in the shade and peace and quiet. 
There is a wealth of independent shops to be seen and one of the finest happens to be MOMO, which is a little house of  traditional Japanese ceramics, chopsticks and silk lanterns.

 Perfect to pick up a handmade treat for a pal, this cute shop is serene and, as it is tucked away from the tourist promenade, often empty of others, giving you time to really admire the place and the treasures it keeps.
Their prices range from totally affordable to a little steep (reflecting the quality and workmanship) but there is something for everyone here. I bought a lovely sugar bowl for a mere 8.50€... I can't decide if I want to give it away as a gift or keep it all to myself! This is the only problem with Momo, you'll want to keep it all for yourself! Especially the cat stamps... I can't resist a cat stamp...

Located off the beaten track on C/ Arc de St. Ramón del Call, Momo is open Monday 4:30pm-8pm, Tues-Sat 11am-2pm, 4:30pm-8pm and is well worth a peek... just be careful you don't end up buying everything!
